Having Spoken to Paul on twitter, I asked him to write something about their cause and what they are doing. I hope you will read their story and support them.
If you have children could you ever imagine life with out them now?
Seventeen women a day give birth to either a stillborn baby or a baby who dies very soon after birth. 4Louis provide memory boxes so bereaved parents can have a memory of their much loved child with them forever. To date this is available in 20 hospitals in the North East.
My name is Paul Taft and I am affiliated with a charity in the Northeast called 4Louis. My journey with 4Louis began back in December 2009 when I heard the sad news of Kirsty Mcgurell (my boss’s daughter) losing her 1st child shortly before her due date. She had to give birth to Louis as a sleeping angel. After what she had to go through and the little support that was out there for her Kirsty took it upon herself to set up the charity 4Louis. To read Kirsty’s heart wrenching story please visit http://www.4louis.co.uk . Phil Barker decided to join my cause in memory of his niece Holly Gale who had passed away in October 2009 after only being here for 12 days. So Phil was happy help and between us we formed Walk4Louis.
Our mission at Walk4Louis is to complete 1 annual long distance walk to help raise funds for 4Louis. To date we have completed 2 walks in 2010 we walked 191 miles from Sunderland to the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas nr Burton Upon Trent and in 2011 we walked Coast2Coast from Blackpool to Sunderland covering 164 miles. To date we have raised over £5000.
We are now planning our 2012 walk which will be ‘A Grand Challenge’. We will be going from London To Tamworth, Staffordshire walking along the Grand Union Canal. We will be setting off on the 11th May from The Emirates Stadium home of Arsenal Football Club and on the 1st day we will be visit a few sports stadiums around London, we will be going to Loftus Road home of QPR, Stamford Bridge home of Chelsea, Lords Cricket Ground home of Middlesex County Cricket Club and finishing at Wembley. From day 2 we will then get on the Grand Union Canal at Wembley and next stop Tamworth in 8 days time. Anyone who would like to donate please visit http://www.justgiving.com/walk4louis and show your support for a worthy and much needed cause. Please help raise awareness of this great charity and what it stands for.
